As a Functional Consultant, this position will be the expert who translates business needs into technical solutions. This position will be a trusted advisor, working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, design solutions, and ensure seamless implementation.

  • Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and objectives related to Workday Financials.
  • Provide expert advice on best practices and industry standards in the implementation and optimization of Workday Financials modules.
  • Lead the full lifecycle of Workday Financials implementations, including planning, design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Workday Financials with other business systems and applications.
  • Configure Workday Financials modules to meet client-specific needs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer activities for client teams.
  • Build a customer-focused relationship with client to identify business challenges and develop specifications and requirements to arrive at the best solution.
  • Develop all analytical functions such as data mapping and transfer, and design an efficient disaster recovery plan.
  • Drive working sessions with client to ensure expectations and direction are aligned and timelines are being met.
  • Conduct implementation pilots, identify areas for product and process improvement, and make recommendations.
  • Coordinate with functional groups and identify all required enhancements and process changes to resolve all issues.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to clients throughout the implementation process.
  • Recognized as subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor professional.
  • Conducts highly complex work with full autonomy and extensive latitude for independent judgment.
Workday Finance Module:
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes: Experience with general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting & forecasting, and financial consolidation.
  • Expertise in Workday Finance configuration: Ability to configure Workday for various accounting needs, including chart of accounts, financial reporting, and integrations with external systems.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementing and configuring Workday Financials.
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one area of Workday Finance, such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, or Financial Reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial business processes and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage Workday Financials implementations from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal teams.
  • Workday Financials certification is a plus.
  • Experience with other Workday modules or integrations is desirable.
